This year's congress is a paperless event.

This means that the all the documentation for the event is digital, easing the load on our environment among other things.

The platform we're using for this is powered by a company called YuDu who provide a digital mobile and laptop/ddesktop device solution for digital documents.

Below is a simple walk-throuh of both the mobile and desktop platforms which both have useful functionality and are simple to use.

Congress documents: how-to guide

This is the congress document solution designed for mobile and tablet devices.

Here is a quick how-to guide for functionality:

The first screen shows the basic functionality including swiping between pages and zooming in and out of each page.

Tap the bottom of the screen to show the toolbar. Options include single page view, fixed zoom, share, page-jump and a pop-up table of contents.

The icon on the far right of the toolbar is the pop-up content option. This provides quick links to section head pages throughout the document.

The first screen shows the basic functionality including page-peel functionality, zooming in and out of each page, sharing content and printing.

In the bottom right of the screen there is a page-peel that animates when the mouse hovers over it - click here to turn the pages of the document.

At the top and in the centre of the toolbar there is a text field for page numbers. Simply type the page number of the page you'd to jump to and hitthe 'enter' key.

Towards the right of the toolbar there is a 'content' icon that, when clicked a pop-up table of contents for the document appears.

This provides quick-links to the start of the main sections within a document. Click on any of the section headings to jump to the beginning of a section.

As well as basic click-to-zoom functionality, there is a slider and a magnifying glass in the main toolbar which allows much more flexibility for page magnification.

On the pages of some documents there are red, double chevron symbols [>>] - when clicked, these link off to and launch new, related documents.

When the mouse cursor hovers over the red, double chevron symbols [>>], the URL of the related documet is highlighted in a pop-up text box.

Along the toolbar to the top left of the interface, there is a print icon. When the mouse cursor hovers over the icon, a pop-up text box appears letting you know that you can print pages of your choice. Note - THERE WILL BE NO PRINTING FACILITIES AT CONGRESS - all printing should be done at home.

On the toolbar to the top right of the interface, there is search functionality. Simply type in th relevant or desired keywords into the text-field labeled "search" and click the "Go" button.

Search results are displayed in a pop-up window along wiht the corresponding page number ...

... all instances of the searched keyword also appear highlighted in green on the pages themselves.
